Whoever welcomes one such child in my name, welcomes me.
Godly Play Sunday School
Godly Play meets Sundays 9:15-9:45 a.m. on Zoom, with worktime to follow. Please contact Jeannie Babb for the link and password.
Godly Play kits are available to pick up Friday afternoons on the CAC porch. These are paper baggies containing a snack to enjoy during our closing feast, and a few art supplies that may have something to do with the story. Please check the bags to make sure supplies are appropriate for your child’s developmental level. You might also provide supplies for open-ended projects (play-doh or clay, markers, etc.)
The Godly Play Sunday school program at Otey Memorial Parish is designed for children at least 3 years old through 5th grade. We also offer a Tuesday morning program for children not yet in school.
Godly Play helps children to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond. Come join us!

Vacation Bible School
In early summer, Otey holds an intergenerational learning series called VB-Us. Our take on Vacation Bible School, VB-Us brings the community together for a good meal, singing, and chatauqua-style learning centered around lectures, crafts, skits, and stories.
Throughout the seasons of the church year, Otey's children participate in many wonderful traditions: the annual church picnic, a church tour, games and dancing at Oktoberfest, coloring crosses for All Saints, making Advent wreaths, the Christmas pageant, Bishop Otey Sunday, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, the annual Easter Egg hunt and party, a Pentecost celebration, and Summer Eucharist featuring a sermon geared to younger worshipers.
