SERVICE HOUSED AT OTEY

OUTREACH AT OTEY

In non-COVID times, our facilities are normally a beehive of activity involving both parishioners and community members.  One reason Otey built what is now Claiborne Parish House in the early  1900s was to offer a gathering place for the community in addition to University facilities.  Beyond our own programs and ministries, Otey has for decades provided space free of charge to the Thurmond Library and the Sewanee Children's Center.  We also host 12-step recovery meetings, book groups, classes in the arts, caregiver support meetings, Christian-Jewish-Muslim dialogue, Education for Ministry, meetings of community organizations, and nonprofit events.
